So this was very painful to create :D And the bed turned out kinda ugly. And I didn't add all the detail to the ceiling that I wanted to... or to the inset parts beneath the bookcase. Ah well.

Blender y Photoshop. Critique welcome.

Nice use of the stairs and the curved platform to introduce the room's elements.
My eyes traveled from the pillar to the fireplace then my focus went to the cabinet but then i discovered a work desk and realized the cabinet had a bed behind it. Perhaps the bed was not the main focus.
Great work!

At first I didn't notice that it was a bed. But that's only because the bright off white dresser is in front of it. My eye goes right to the dresser int eh center, then to the desk, then towards the fireplace, across the shelves and to the top of the ceiling. My only suggestion is to maybe make the headboard the similar color as the dresser or make the dresser a darker tone. Or maybe make the pillows a lighter color - something to help me want to look in that area.
If your intent is to have the bed hidden away, then it works perfectly and no need to pay attention to my critique.

Otherwise this piece is gorgeous and I really like how it looks. The pattern on the tile in the foreground is lovely - the area would look too heavy without it and it makes me curious of what it might look like in that direction. I feel like I want to walk into this and check things out. Amazing work!

Thanks for the detailed feedback! I probably should've made the dresser a natural wood colour since it's not supposed to be the immediate focal point, though neither was the bed. I'm glad the secondary points of focus for you—the desk and the fireplace—were as I intended. I"m happy you liked the tiles in the foreground, that's probably my favourite part :D Thanks again :)

Looking good.
How many hours did you spend on this one?
JakeBowkett Featured By Owner Apr 11, 2015  Hobbyist Digital Artist
Thanks! Hm, I'm not sure how long it took though it'd definitely be over 8 hours, probably double digits.

I kind of like that the bed is plain and the ceiling as it already is. Having played the game the room's owner has never really cared about courtly apparel anyway and I doubt their parents would have cared enough to give them better accommodations anyway.

Yeah, I did try to hold back with regards to ornament for that reason. Despite that I still think the bed (particularly the upper part) looks a little weird, haha. Thanks for the comment :)

The cupboard or how you call it on the foot of the bed could have used some color, unless it was supposed to contrast the room then it's fine.

I can see that -- it might've looked good being vanished wood, perhaps! I was concerned that a more darker, wood-ish colour would cause it to blend too much with the desk in the foreground. And other colours didn't seem to work much. I actually had a bit of trouble working out the colour scheme for this BG!

Anyway, thanks for the comment :)
